Always have trouble connecting

I installed on phone and computer updated both connected both to same wifi network, and sometimes it just flat out refuses to connected. Finally I had to turn auto off and manually enter the Ip to get it to work. Well see how long that lasts. Either way now if I want to use my laptop somewhere else I have to go through the the whole process.
